Construction of Development Victoria’s CIRQ townhouse development in Point Cook is underway, with Burbank announced as the successful builder for the project.
CIRQ Point Cook sold out less than 12 months after its launch, with the majority of homes purchased by locals in the region.
Sales research revealed more than 60 per cent of buyers are from Point Cook, with residents from Altona, Seabrook and Sunshine West also purchasing homes at CIRQ.
The research also shows 60 per cent of buyers are owner occupiers, with motivating factors for purchasing including its location close to public transport, community facilities and workplaces.
Development Victoria’s Acting General Manager, Development and Construction, Ken Munro said there was also a good proportion of first home-buyers which indicated affordability and quality had been driving factors for success.
“This is a high-quality development which has been very well supported by the local community. From the time of our launch we have consistently seen locals buying into CIRQ,” he said.
“This shows that buyers want to stay in the area and live in high-quality, architecturally designed homes that are reasonably priced and really well located next to shops, parklands and other local services.
“To sell the entire development in less than 12 months also underlines the quality of the product on offer.”
CIRQ Point Cook has been designed to improve access to high-quality affordable housing close to existing community services, including the town centre, the wetland and local schools.
Burbank’s Projects division will deliver the project which will feature two, three and four-bedroom townhouses, designed by architects Rothelowman.
“Burbank Projects specialises in the construction and delivery of medium density housing, including townhouses, and we are extremely proud to hve been appointed to build the townhouses at CIRQ,” Jarrod Sanfilippo, Managing Director of the Burbank Group said.
“Our expert building team is looking forward to construction and seeing these generously sized, architecturally designed homes to begin to take shape.”
CIRQ has also achieved the Silver Standard of Livable Housing Australia Guidelines certification for a number of town homes, as well as the UDIA’s EnviroDevelopment certification, meaning it has achieved the highest level of commitment to sustainability.
